Servings: 2 Prep Time: 10 Min
Im going to come out and say it. I'm a prepper. There, I said it. I guess this day and age 'prepper' doesn't seem like such a bad idea, eh? In fact, I wish I prepped more.
Right now, in my life, I can barely prep for my families next meal, let alone years in advance. I know you're tracking with me. Where does the time go?
If you are like me, prepping for breakfast almost never happens. What's the point, when there's an invention called the bagel, my personal favorite. Don't carb shame me! You secretly love them too. I only grab a bagel if im in a real hurry and I want to feel bloated for the rest of the day! Ha.
Muesli and granola are a huge hit in my house. I'm not paid to say that, I promise, but nothing has benefits and versatility of oats. Oatmeal, muesli and granola are real time savors in the morning, and at the same time provide good nutrition, unlike your typical sugary boxed cereal, pop tarts, eggo's, and doughnuts. Of the endless possibilities, overnight oats has got to be my favorite way to make oats. Why you ask? Well for starters...
There's practically no prep time
You can sleep in longer. Thats huge.
It's healthy (depending on what you put in it).
It's portable, you can take it to work with you.
Duh, it's delicious
Do I need to go on?
Before we get started, I guess I should mention that prep time gets cut in half when you start with a good quality swiss muesli (shameful plug) filled with all the goodies, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.
What you'll need
1 1/2 cup Swiss Muesli
2/3 cup plain yogurt
1 cup milk or dairy substitute (coconut, almond, oat milk)
2 TBSP maple syrup
2 Tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Step 1
Mix all the ingredients and together in medium size bowl pour into individual containers, such as mason jars. That's it. I told you it was easy.
Place mason jars in the fridge overnight.
Serving
Before eating top with favorite fruit, nut butters, and/or seed. Im not sure you can go wrong. For best results, soak the oats no longer than one night. The oats will get mushy if left longer. You'll be hooked on it, trust me.
Great blog thanks for posting this
